Privacy policy

Scope

This notice explains the current account and community features on DaoLeu. It does not cover external booking platforms. Their privacy policies apply when you use their services.

Information we handle

If you register, we store your display name, email address and a hashed password. Account moderation may also store a block date, an internal reason, the responsible administrator and a session-revocation version. Your email address and password hash are not displayed in public questions or answers.

Hotel questions, answers and article comments are stored with their author account and posting dates. Your display name and visible contributions are public and may be indexed or copied by others. Do not include private booking details, contact details or identity documents in posts.

Session data, request metadata and security or error logs may be processed to keep you signed in, protect forms, limit abuse and diagnose problems. Depending on server configuration, these records may include IP addresses, timestamps, browser information and requested URLs.

Why we use this information

We use account information to provide sign-in and community participation, and use technical information to operate and protect the site. We also use information you send us to respond to your requests.

Where applicable law requires a legal basis, account services rely on providing the service you request, site security relies on legitimate operational interests, and records may be retained where legally required. Optional processing that requires consent would need a separate choice.

Cookies and external services

The current application uses essential session and form-security cookies. Blocking these can prevent sign-in or posting. This version does not include advertising pixels or an analytics integration.

Hotel pages may load an embedded OpenStreetMap map. When it loads, your browser connects directly to OpenStreetMap services and sends technical information such as your IP address, browser information and referring site. Your DaoLeu account details are not added to map requests. The map uses the hotel location and does not request your device location. OpenStreetMap services are subject to their own privacy policy.

When you follow a booking link, the destination may receive technical referral information and use its own cookies or tracking parameters to attribute purchases. Your DaoLeu account details are not inserted into our booking links. The destination controls its own collection and may process data in other countries.

Access and sharing

Visible contributions are available to everyone. Site administrators and infrastructure providers may need access to non-public data to operate, secure or support the service. We do not sell account information. Information may also be disclosed where required by applicable law.

Retention and your choices

Account information is kept while needed to maintain your account. Contributions remain available while published; content hidden by an administrator is retained in the database and is not automatically erased. Technical records are retained according to operational needs and the server’s log settings.

Depending on the law that applies, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or other rights concerning your personal information. Contact the publisher using the details below. We may need to verify that a request concerns your own account. Removing content from DaoLeu does not remove copies held by search engines or other people.
